BREAKING: COVID-19 Death Toll In Spain Hits 4,858 As Nearly 800 People Die Overnight
The Spanish coronavirus death toll reached 4,858 after 769 people died from the disease overnight.
It marks a new record in the number of fatalities recorded in 24 hours as the country’s healthcare system struggles to cope with the pandemic.
More people have now been killed by Covid-19 in Spain than the outbreak’s original epicentre of China.
The total number of official cases rose to 64,059 from 56,188 yesterday after the Spanish Parliament voted to extend emergency measures confining people in their homes except for essential trips for food, medicine and work.
