IPOB Ubuluisiuzor Demands Immediate Release Of Benjamin Madubugwu

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ubuluisiuzor chapter has asked the federal government to release unconditionally and immediately its member Benjamin Madubugwu who has been in detention since October 2015.

A press release by the group which was made available to ORIENTAL TIMES reads:

The family members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ubuluisizor in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra state, unequivocally places a demand to the Nigeria government, to immediately and unconditionally, release from prison custody, it’s member, – Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu who has extra-judicially been incarcerated. Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu, a hardcore Biafran freedom fighter known for his uncompromising belief and quest for the full and total restoration of Biafra, has been bluntly denied freedom by the Nigeria government, absolute disregard to outstanding court orders that sanctioned his bail.

He was abducted on the 28th day of October 2015 by the illegitimate Department of Security Services called DSS and was charged to court on two count trumped up charges which are::

(1). Conspiracy to commit treasonable felony and (2) Illegal possession of guns.

It is necessary to state here therefore, that the two guns he was accused of, are his personal, officially purchased and duly licensed guns which were at the instance of the Nigeria government with authorisation documents buttressing their legality.

It then beats the imagination of sane individuals that somebody who legally acquired guns for self defence can be arrested and punished on offences not spelt out in law.

This act of impunity and disgusting show of barbarism being carried out by a supposedly professional security agency in a democracy, has further proven the temerity of a people that do not hide their disdain for Biafrans.

Hardcore Biafran freedom fighters, sympathisers and relatives of Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu took to the streets of Ubuluisiuzor to press home their demand for the unconditional and immediate release from detention of this fine gentleman.

The anger of the protesters was not hidden as the town of Ubuluisiuzor stood still in solidarity to their ill-treated son.

Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu alongside his compatriots that are in detention, have diversely made it emphatically clear that they don’t belong to the evil forest called Nigeria but that they are Biafrans.

One of the Family Writers correspondents reported the testimonies of a very close relation of Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu which explained the premium value and regard the community places on the detained freedom fighter because of his track records of kindness, sincerity and dependability.

He eulogised Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu for his personal efforts in providing security and enhancing the developmental drive of the town.

He stated that their son has single handedly been empowering the youths positively with his resources.

The close associate decried the enormity of the agonising pains the inhabitants of the community have been through since his absence, occasioned by this jaundiced, immoral, uncivilized and heartless treatment.

He therefore collaborated in very strong terms, the demands of the entire Ubuluisiuzor community and the family of the Indigenous People of Biafra under the able leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, that Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu be released without further delay, and with all his confiscated belongings fully restored.

We equally remain undaunted in this Biafran restoration quest and call on the Nigeria government to expedite action as ordered by the court and release our people still being unjustly detained in different locations in the country for freely exercising their fundamental human rights as contained in UN charter amongst others, to us.
