Delta state

Some women of Iyede community in Delta state, have shut down the busy Ughelli – Asaba Road, protesting the menace of the deadly Fulani herdsmen activities in the area.

The women were joined by the community youths and men.

The protesters seen with placards which read ‘Herdsmen destroyed our crops’, ‘We don’t want herdsmen in our bush,’ blocked vehicles from passing the axis.

One of the protesters said, “Our major pain are the deaths, rape and trauma being suffered by our mothers and young girls at the mercy of marauding herdsmen.

“If we can no longer go to our farms again because of herdsmen, on what do we now survive as poor farmers?”
