Open Letter To Governor Rochas Anayo Okorocha On The Brutal Massacre Of Innocent Imo Citizens
By Comr. Sam Anyanwu.
Psalm 27:1 says “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? the Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid of? No Body….
My bible also teaches me in the book of Psalm 91:7 that “though a thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand but they shall not come near me” and Psalm 23:4 also teaches me that “Even though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I fear no evil for my GOD is with me.
Your Excellency Sir, this open letter is necessitated by your militarization of governance in lmo state.
Sir, let me make bold to say that “I am not afraid of the terror by night nor the arrow that flies by day” says Psalm 91:5.
These spiritual and biblical quotations are my shield and buckler knowing that your administration derives great pleasure in loosing the lives and properties of the people you are charged with the responsibility of protecting their lives and property.
Firstly, let me state that am not afraid of your party’s hate speech arrest threat neither am I afraid of being massacred like the victims of the innocent Eke Ukwu Owere brutal murder whose blood spilled on the streets of Owerri like a running water tap.
It is pathetic to note that those harmless and armless citizens could not have been watching the excavators like a cinema bulldozing their shops without safeguarding their goods which was their only crime that led to the operation shoot aside order.
Your Excellency, it is utterly callous to foist Imolites into further hardship through your demolition exercise regardless of the untold hardship inflicted on the masses in this economically recessed nation which your party the All Progressive Congress(APC) have ushered the nation into.
Your Excellency, permit me to bring to your oblivion that you do not understand the plight of the masses haven misplaced the utmost priority which your government should have focused on but rather engaged in your dastardly act which have sent innocent Imolites to an early grave.
Three things are sacrosanct which you obviously lack knowledge of and have failed to comprehend.
Firstly, that governance is service to the people and the wish of the masses should be of utmost priority.
Secondly, you see leadership as a title and rather not an opportunity to serve the masses.
Thirdly, that we are in a democratic system and not a military administration.
However, regardless of the fact that the cold murdered Imolites were armless, your government deployed the army whose responsibility is the defence of the territorial integrity of the nation.
This action shows that you see Imolites as your enemy as such, at war with the masses who turned out en mass not just to entrust their mandate in you but also protected their votes by keeping vigil for over three days at INEC head office Owerri as they thirst and hunger under a very harsh sun.
When Imolites voted you into power, their hopes were totally invested in you hoping that you will usher Imo State into African -Dubai-Taiwan economy as you claimed and the good governance of the collective dream of Imolites anchored on people oriented, participatory or representative form of government which you boasted of is now a nightmare.
We expected that you will wipe away the tears in our eyes, the sorrows in our hearts, and whatever harm or wrong done to us in the past by previous administrations.
Unfortunately, we have continued to know more sorrow, shed more tears and sustain more injuries as a result of your barbaric and cruel actions against the people of Imo State.
We expected your governance to at least either take us to or put us at the verge of the promised land in the time it takes to say Rochas Okorocha.
We also expected you to patch up the tears in the fabrics of our integration into national streamline politics.
These expectations are entirely borne out of a naive expectation of you being the ultimate solution to all the problems confronting Imo State.
Little did we know that we have ushered ourselves into another era of military dictatorship akin to the autocratic leadership of the likes of Idi Amin, Robert Mugabe, Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Charles Tailor etc.
Let me remind you of your favourite quote in the holy book of Exodus chapter 14:13 which says “Moses answered the people, Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again”.
Your Excellency, let me remind you one imperative fact you have forgotten which is “Wealth is not forever, nor does even the crown endure to all generations” Proverbs 27:24.
Be that as it may, you will not remain in power forever. If in doubt, ask Diezani Alison Madueke.
When the wind of positive and transformational change blows, you may be Judged by your actions, anti democratic policies, flouting of court orders, vendetta demolitions, and “had I known would be your new mantra and no longer “My people, My people” nor “My helper ooh, My helper” which was the song Mantra under its disguise you hoodwinked the masses of the arrival of the Messiah.
Remember your words at Ahiara diocese crisis “Sometimes, a wise person behaves foolishly for the sake of his children. So, we must change our style before we deny ourselves of our justice”…Rochas Okorocha (July 4th 2017).
Hitherto, I hold you at very high esteem because I knew you are a very wise person with an amazing political sagacity which anchored on mesmerizing the gullible public with your sugar coated oratory and charisma.
Where did you abandon that discernment you were known for to engage your government in this military brutality of harmless citizens and eventual cold murder of innocent masses by trigger happy army officers who executed their duties perhaps with the blessings of a perceived government of the people?
May the souls of the brutally murdered citizens rest in the bosom of almighty God, Amen…

Okorohausa is a bye product of Uncircumcised Fulani raping an Igbo woman in Jos. Therefore, he is not Igbo man, the mother should have aborted him.
