Igbos Don’t Deserve Anything From Buhari Because They Did Not Vote For Him – APC
Former Special Adviser to immediate past Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole and APC chieftain in Edo State, Hon. Charles Idahosa has stressed that people of the South East do not deserve the equal share of democratic dividends they are demanding from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.
Idahosa made the comment while wondering why the region which did not vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC, should demand equal treatment with other regions which voted for Buhari in 2015.
Speaking with Vanguard, the APC Chieftain said, “Politics is a game of numbers; politics means the sharing of the dividends of democracy. The constitution has taken care of restructuring because every state has a minister in the federal cabinet.
“Each local government must have a commissioner at the state level; so, there is proper representation at all levels. If you people need restructuring, because I heard people complain about how appointments are shared, how do you expect the APC to give equal Boards appointments to the South-East that voted 90 per cent for the PDP (at the last presidential election)?
“Do you expect the President to compensate those who did not vote for him? Is that one done anywhere in a democracy?
“My late friend Gaddafi (Samson Ekhabafe), who was then Attorney General in Edo State, once explained something like this to us in 2003 in an exco meeting. Governor Lucky Igbinedion was presiding when information came to us that there was a protest at the Government House gates.
“So, Igbinedion asked the deputy governor, Ogiadomhe, to go and find out what was amiss and when he (Oghiadohme) came back, he said some people from Akoko-Edo were protesting because their king had been deposed and detained for the past one month. And Lucky (Igbinedion) did not even know.
“So, he turned to Gaddafi, who was from that area, and asked him what happened. And Gaddafi said he personally dethroned the traditional ruler because he worked against the PDP in an election then. Lucky was angry and asked why he (Ekhabafe) did not inform him before doing a thing like that.
“But, surprisingly, Gaddafi said he did not know he was supposed to tell the governor. Lucky said he could not do that and ordered that the man should be re-instated. I will never forget that statement from Gaddafi. In a nutshell, I think people are not following what the constitution says.
“The South-East did not vote for the APC; so, you don’t expect them to get what others who voted for the APC are getting.”

They are very dangerous to the extent the use “truth as a weapon to terrorise the Government” they are so heartless that they speak against corruption and corrupt politicians, they are so wicked that they have refuse to carry arms against the Federal republic of Nigeria. I mean why should they be so wicked to Nigerians by demanding for BIAFRA. No wonder the military killed several members and declared them the most dangerous terrorist organization in world history….. sai Baba!! Biafra: US Government says IPOB not terrorist organization
The United States Government has said it does not categorize the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organisation.
In a correspondence with Sunday Punch, the spokesman for the American Embassy in Nigeria, Russell Brooks, also stated that the US was committed to Nigeria’s unity and would support a peaceful resolution of any crisis in the country.
“The United States Government is strongly committed to Nigeria’s unity. Important political and economic issues affecting the Nigerian people, such as the allocation of resources, are worthwhile topics for respectful debate in a democracy.
“Within the context of unity, we encourage all Nigerians to support a de-escalation of tensions and peaceful resolution of grievances.
“The Indigenous People of Biafra is not a terrorist organisation under US law,” he said.
The US embassy, however, declined to comment on whether the Federal Government had asked it to treat IPOB as a terrorist organisation and to block money sent to IPOB from the US.
Last week, the Federal High Court in Abuja, gave a judicial backing the executive order of President Muhammadu Buhari, outlawing the group and its activities in the country.
The court granted the order to proscribe the group on Wednesday

I wouldn’t have wasted my costly to respond this idiotic statement issued out by if he had written without making reference to and comparison with what is obtained in the democratic settings across the globe. Such comparison from a so-called former advice to Adams, the recent past governor of Edo State, it simple depict the type unqualified and naive politicians that lead this Nation.
He asked“Do you expect the President to compensate those who did not vote for him? Is that one done anywhere in a democracy?
He said and asked, “Is that one done anywhere in a democracy”? In fact, this has exposed how perfected ignorant and primitive you are in relation to the true tenets of democracy in the Western Nations. This man is exactly the type of political advisers and politicians that rule Nigeria. This Mr Ignorant Idahosa should be ashamed of himself if he understands that Mr. Obama, Cameron, Angela Merkel, etc. applied this particular tenet for the general good, peace and progress of the entire Nation. In fact, such is a common principle and practice amongst Western Nations. This is way to build the peace and unity of their country and which helps in the building stronger and sustainable democracy but unfortunately, in Nigeria what we pretentiously practice is party-supremacy, tribacracy and military-somersaulted democracy. Certainly, this has been the core reason why democracy has not yielded its relevant dividends to Nigerians.
Obviously, from the day Mr. President made that statement I had the conviction in my mind that he has failed and as such, would put this Nation into a dangerous quagmire and subject Nigeria to a grievous catastrophe and irredeemable cantankerous. Worst still he hardened his heart and followed such undemocratic and ludicrous statement with actions and implementation. Mr. Buhari is fully responsible for the battered state of the Nation. Today, Nigeria owes 14 trillion naira internal debt and 15 billion dollars external debts yet the economy is dazed with rottenness and protracted stagflation which is worse than recession. Compare both internal and external debts Mr. Buhari has piled on the Nation. If you add the whole debts together you can see that Nigeria’s total Foreign Reserve has been used up. Yet, with all these damages inflicted upon this Nation, Mr President, allies and his aides refused to learn, to change their archaic strategies, their confrontation methods and approaches, their hatred ideologies, their militarized modus operandi, their I don’t phenomenal, their I will deal with them syndrome, etc. Until he changes his style and embrace democratic approach seriously more rough and sinister days loom large.

Gbenga Michael Niger Delta is State that has oil and gas. Imo, Abia, Anambra state from south East has oil and gas. From South South you get Rivers, Cross river, Bayelsa and Delta also have oils and gas but remember our general name is old eastern state as you mentioned in your question. I know you will say they are not Igbos but I tell you that we are Biafrans. Rivers and Delta state 70 percent of Igbos and that is why they always produce Igbo government since its been created. Mostly Rivers State.

As well read as they claim to be, as well exposed to various parts of Nigeria as they are, as enlightened as they claim to be, I am sorry to say, they are politically naive. You don’t demand for the Presidency, you work, strategize for the Presidency. Politics is give & take, bridge building, welding alliances across tribe, region & religion, creating goodwill, building bonds of trust & mutual respect etc. Instead of imbibing these attributes, joining a broad based national party, & having heavy presence in top two major parties; they put ALL their eggs in one tribal party voting 97.5% into one basket. It lost & they lost. Whose fault? The likes of Ngige, Okoroacha, Amaechi etc tried to enlighten them, they tagged them traitors. It is a peculiar trend in third World countries that parties reward its constituent parts based on their contributions to its success. Once constitutional provisions were fulfilled of giving each section its statutory share, loyalist must be rewarded first, before others. Often, the posts are not even enough to satisfy the loyalists. Consequently, peripheral constituencies become disadvantaged. Remember, the negative admonition Patience gave to the Igbos: a vote for Buhari would be considered sacrilegious, NO single Igbo vote should go out, ALL IGBO votes must be put in ONE tribal basket! They complied with a herd mentality & gave 97.5% to what was considered THE IGBO PARTY, PDP! The North that Igbo considered “illiterate” voted Abiola against Tofa, even in Kano! Then declined to contest in 1999 to allow a Yoruba emerge! But when the Yoruba backed GEJ in 2011, the SE/SS marginalised the Yorubas & took home 85% of “appointable” posts! That was to spell the end of Southern political solidarity. The Igbo/SS betrayed that alliance! In 2015, the Yoruba ditched SE/SS, clinched the VP, with Tinubu as Kingmaker! Written By ;Ameen odike.
