HIV/AIDS

There are more than 382,000 people living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV, in Benue, Ondo and Borno states.

The Acting Country Programme Manager, AIDS Healthcare Foundation Nigeria, Dr. Greg Abiaziem, Benue State ranks first in the HIV/AIDS prevalence rating in Nigeria according to the national survey carried out in 2014.

Abiaziem said this on Friday at the commemoration of the 2017 World AIDS Day held at the IBB Square, Makurdi.

He stated that over 300,000 people were living with the virus in the state, adding that the AHF was working hard to bring the figure down.

He said out of the figure, 140,000 were currently undergoing treatment at the various treatment centres in the state.

This National & International statistics has shown that illiteracy & certain behaviours like sex, are related.
It shows that because the igbos are enlightened, they are more careful & apply precaution in sex related matters.
But it is exactly the opposite in the North where careless&indiscriminate sexual behaviours rein.

….over 70% illiteracy & extreme poverty in the North is solely responsible.

Every sickness known to human persists in the North, infects & spreads in the North with Northern leaders looking the other way. These diseases have killed thousands of children & adults in the North. i.e Meningitis, Cholera,Polio,
    Leprosy,Deaf/Dumb,Hepatitis etc.

    Its really a shame
