Can this be called nemesis? Helpless Nigerians have been yelling, crying for help from this blood thirsty gangsters, all to no avail. The government of the land which sworn on its inauguration, to defend life and property of its citizens has long turn deaf ear, become indifferent and surprisingly continue to show a lackadaisical approach to this all important issue. Meanwhile, like over pampered children, these Fulani marauders have continued in their killing spree unabated, unchallenged, by the powers that be, to both the amazement and chagrin of other civilized people of the world. To make their feelings known, the United Nations recently classified Nigerian Fulani herdsmen as the third most blood thirsty, murderous group in the world after Boko haram and ISIS. Still, the Nigerian government turned deaf ear and continue to look the other way.
… The constitution made it clear that the blood of an innocent person killed is greater than a thousand criminals killed. Still nobody cares. Like in the bible where the blood of Abel is crying in the wilderness, the blood of these innocent souls slaughtered everyday under the nose of an indifferent government are really yelling for vengeance. Can one ascribe to this news as nemesis? Life is something that should be sacred and sacrosanct, but Nigeria of today is fast turning to a state of Utopia where life is short and brutish.
…Igbo adage says, when animal runs dangerously, one shoots dangerously. If we continue to treat herdsmen with kid gloves, because of cattle, time will come when they will literally overrun this country and damn the consequence. Meanwhile the country keeps suffering economically. An economy still fragile, emerging from recession, needs strong results from its diversification efforts especially in agricultural sector, to sustain the emergence. But the wicked activities of herdsmen has been truncating these efforts and agricultural performance remains dismal as prices of food continue to soar.
