Benue Is Part And Parcel Of Sokoto Caliphate, Belongs To Fulani Herdsmen By Right Of Conquest – Prof Muhammad
Professor Umar Labdo Muhammad of the Faculty of Humanities, Northwest University, Kano has alleged that Benue State belongs to the Fulani by right of conquest.
The University Don predicated his claim on the fact that half of Benue State is part of the Bauchi Emirate and also half of the Adamawa Emirate.
In a post on his Facebook, Muhammad stressed that by extension, Benue is “part and parcel of Sokoto Caliphate” as such nobody has the right to expel Fulani from the state.
Muhammad also stated that Fulani are the largest single nation in the African continent and they have “remained unbeatable throughout their history.”
The post reads, “Benue State belongs to the Fulani people by right of conquest. This is because half of the state is part of the Bauchi Emirate and the other half is part of the Adamawa Emirate. Benue is therefore part and parcel of the Sokoto Caliphate. So no one has the right to expel the Fulani from Benue under any guise.
“Second to the Arabs, perhaps the Fulani are the most benevolent and merciful conquerors in history. If they had applied the Nazi final solution to the natives, or if they had treated them the same way the European settlers treated Red Indians in North America or the Aborigines in Australia, the story would have been different toady.
“The Fulani are the largest single nation in West Africa and, perhaps, on the whole continent and they have remained unbeatable throughout their history.
“You can hate the Fulani, you can call them all sort of names, you can blackmail their spineless political leaders, you can conspire to wipe out the entire Fulani leadership in a single day, you can stage a coup and “orkarize” (excise) the core Fulani states from Nigeria, you can hate them to he’ll, but you can never beat them.
“Fulani’s main problem remains their meek, spineless, incompetent leaders that have lost all sense of responsibility and abandoned their people. But this problem, thank God, is not insurmountable.
“The Fulani are capable of changing their leaders: traditional, political, religious and cultural (I mean by cultural those so-called Fulani socio-cultural organizations that eat fat on the Fulani but cannot champion their cause or defend their rights). They have done this in the past and are capable of doing it again.”

Years ago, a very known Professor make an assertion that, “there are Professors, and there are Professors”. My layman’s interpretation of this wise statement is that one may be a professor and remain an empty head. It would be of use for someone of knowledge to inform this man, the author of this shameless article that world is in the 21st century. Tell him also that conquests and bounties therefrom were left behind by humanity many centuries ago.
It is not only primitive to be talking about bounties due to conquests in a 21st century society, it is criminal to justify it especially when this obnoxious claim is backed by act that qualify as “Crime Against Humanity”.
This man, Labdo Muhammed is aiding and abetting crime against humanity. Neither Labdo nor his political backbones and not even a taciturn president will escape justice in connection with these crimeservices.
It has to warned that the wrathful acts of these primitive and criminal fulani herdsman may eventually see them flushed out of Nigeria for good. As for myself, I look forward to Biafra, a land where no herdsman nor fulani will be welcome.
We, in Biafraland shall take to modern animal husbandry.

This thing is degenerating to something else, that same TRUTH Mazi Nnamdi Kanu told us and we refused to accept is vastly unfolding before us and still we don’t want to face it with sincerity.
We all need to be sincere to ourselves and face our fear (TRUTH) ,so that we can be one as we take our stand against our oppressor .
May God bless Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wherever he is

This is the most irresponsible & reprehensible statement I have heard in the last 50 years. This is a disgrace to education & the teaching profession from where this so called Prof comes from. Being educated is not just acquiring book education. Education visit of use if it is not built on practical wisdom, decorum, decency, fairness, empathy, fairness, respect for others & a sense of propriety. The Prof, by making this offensive statement had displayed that he possesses none of the stated qualities. To that extent, he only holds certificates laying claim to qualifications, but in reality, he is not educated!

This insult should stop. The world has changed so much for anybody to talk of calyphate, emirate, etc. You people are really inviting trouble. Loyalty to any kingdom is voluntary and express consent of such individual, group or race. Even now, Benue is inhabited by Tivs, Idomas, Biron, Agatus and they harmoniously recognize their individuality and cultural diversity. All this expansionist projects are a calculated attempts to heat up the fabrics that joined us together. President Buhari has the authority and framework to bring his people to order. If he fails to do that with the urgency it requires, then he should be held responsible of encouraging instability in the land, and that puts a question mark on his oath of office.
