Boko Haram: FG Orders IGP To Relocate To Northeast
The Federal Government on Wednesday ordered the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to relocate to the Northeast to forestall incessant attack by Boko Haram on school children in the area.
Also ordered to relocate to Northeast is the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Abdullahi Muhamadu.
The directive was made by the Minister of Interior, retired Lt-Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau in a tweet on @NGPresident on Wednesday.
The tweet said the Minister of Interior has “directed the IG of Police & the Commandant General of NSCDC to relocate to the northeast & liaise with the theater commander of #OpLafiyaDole & Govs of Yobe, Borno & Adamawa to ensure deployment of personnel to all schools in liberated areas in the States.”
The Minister said that the directive has become necessary to forestall a re-occurrence of the attack on innocent school children.
