Dave Umahi

It was a great disappointment to Governor Dave Umahi, and of course, Ebonyi State Government following residents massive compliance to the sit-at-home order given by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

IPOB declared the sit-at-home to celebrate Biafran Heroes who died during the three year genocidal war against the then Republic of Biafra, between 1967 to 1970.

The sit-at-home on Wednesday received a high level of compliance as schools and markets were totally shut down in Southeast and South-South regions.

Some schools in Abakaliki Area of Ebonyi State, were shutdown as pupils were seen returning back to their various homes.

Also, motorist were not moving outside Ebonyi state capital at the early hours of Wednesday.

ORIENTAL TIMES reports that Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, had warned against any compliance by government workers and traders in the State.

He equally threatened that any trader that closes his shop to observe the order declared by IPOB, will forfeit his shop forever.
