Discrimination Responsible For Biafra Agitation –Turaki

A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Tanimu Turaki, has said that discrimination was one of the factors that triggered Biafra agitation in the Southeast.
He made this known while addressing PDP delegates at the Abia State PDP secretariat, Umuahia, noting that the Southeast should have been carried along especially by convincing the national assembly so that an additional state would be created from the region, to give the Igbo a sense of belonging.
He said if he is given the presidential ticket of the party, he will correct such abnormalities like open discrimination, maladministration, official corruption and insecurity.
He said, “We feel that we have what it takes to unify Nigerians. We need a winning team that can provide level playing ground and opportunities irrespective of where you come from.”
Turaki who lamented that the economy of Nigeria had crumbled under the APC government, urged Nigerians not to repeat the mistake of 2015, which brought the All Progressives Congress, into power.
The former minister also urged the youths “to use their Permanent Voter Cards to tell the APC that we are not happy. We will use our PVCs to tell them that we are now having the last laugh.”
While reacting to the defection of some members of the National Assembly to the PDP, Turaki described the development as the beauty of democracy.
The presidential aspirant said he heartily welcomed the senators back to their “natural home,” adding, “Their coming back to PDP will further strengthen the resolve of the party to rescue Nigerians from the despotic, clueless and nepotistic APC government that has unleashed poverty, insecurity, killings and economic strangulation on Nigerians.”
In his response, the State Chairman of PDP, Sir Johnson Onuigbo, thanked Turaki for openly acknowledging that the Igbo group in Nigeria had been unfairly treated and discriminated against politically and otherwise.

After the war, what do we have in the south east? Nothing. No federal government present, no good drinking water, no good road, we have just only 5 states while others have 6 and 7 states and you ask why?
