BREAKING: Police Stop CAN Protest In Adamawa
The Police in Adamawa State have stopped a peaceful protest organised by the state Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The protest called by the CAN Chairman, Adamawa State, Bishop Stephen Mamza, on Wednesday drew a large turnout from Christians who trooped to St. Theresa Catholic Church, the venue initially planned for the take-off of the procession.
But Mamza, shortly before the take-off of the protest scheduled for 9am told the congregants who had turned up for the protest that the police had canceled it.
CAN said the protest was to draw the government’s attention to the protection of human lives whether Christian, Muslim or Fulani. He gave an instance of the recent attacks in Mayo-Belwa which claimed the lives of several Fulani.
CAN also spoke against the Federal Government’s neglect of the state on matters of security. It said the FG’s silence was disturbing because the killings have not abated.
Mamza who said the procession would have afforded the church the opportunity to present its petition to the State Governor, Mohammed
Jibrilla, who will then pass it on to President Muhammadu Buhari, was refused the permission for the peaceful procession.
“The police have refused to grant us the permission but they cannot refuse us access to God. The police have no authority to stop us
access to God.”

Shame on CAN, their head man ought to had been removed for cancelling planned protest after Aso Rock visit. that shows type of wicked hearts in God’s vineyards, men of STOMACH INFRASTRUCTURE. Adamawa CAN is not serious and is like a planned deal because police can never stop a protest of determined people and mind u, u don’t need a police approval for protest because it is tbe right of the citizens to a Peaceful Protest. Shame on Nigerian Religious Bodies, Shame!!!! Defenceless are dying and all the are interested is politics of Aka Azu. For their mind they thought we are with them but long ago we separated /abandoned them with their craftiness and heartlessness. Their ought to hd been massive protest steady with video recordings and again law suits against the government and security agencies by now. O what is wrong with Black Man’s brain?

I love this…so people weren’t killed in the Eastern Nigeria or is the Northern Nigerian more Christinize than the Eastern??? CAN has failed their duty for not carrying a protest in the East when Christians were killed there.
