JUST IN: Riot, Gunshots At PDP National Secretariat As Atiku Submits Nomination Form

There was riot and firing of gunshots at the PDP National Secretariat earlier today as former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar submitted his presidential nomination form.

Officers of the Nigeria police force and some supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) clashed at the party headquarters in Abuja.

The protesters besieged the area as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar submitted his expression of interest and nomination form.

The clash resulted in Policemen firing gunshots into thin air and using teargas canisters to disperse the protesters.

The reason for the breakdown in order remains unknown.
