PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday vowed to reclaim Ekiti State which it lost to the All Progressives Congress, APC in the last governorship poll.

National Chairman of the Party, Prince Uche Secondus, ‎ stated this at the Wadata House in Abuja, while receiving several members who defected from the APC and other political parties into the party.

Among the defectors, who were led by the Senate Majority Leader designate, Senator Biodun Olujimi were Ambassador Dare Bejide, Dr Siriku Tae Lawal. Former Governor of Ekiti State. Chief Bode Ajewole. Chief Diran Omotoso, Otunba Yinka Akerele, Chief (mrs) Titilayo Oluwatuyi, Chief Segun Akinwumi and a host of others.

While receiving the decampees, the National Chairman of PDP, Prince Secondus who spoke through the National Organizing Secretary of the party, Col Austin Akobundu (rtd) assured that all necessary legal actions were being taken by the party and its Governorship Candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola towards reclaim the ” ronnred mandate” which the party believed it won.

The party leader commended the decampees for their bold step to return to the Party at a very critical period when there was ‎nothing on ground to share, saying that this showed that they were back home to join forces with others in the party ahead of the 2019 generals

‎He pleaded with the returnees to go back to their State and beg others to return home as the PDP of today had been rebranded under a new leadership who would never allowed those mistakes of the past which led to their exit.

In their response, the leader of the delegation, Chief Bode Ajewole, Ambassador Dare Bejide, and Dr Sikiru Tai Lawal ‎regretted the party losing the State to the APC in the last governorship election, adding that they were back for good so as to rebuild their damaged home ahead of the 2019 general elections, but pleaded with the leadership of the party to give them equal opportunities with other old members

Why should they go and sleep. It is only Oshiomohole and APC that would be sleeping when what belongs to them is taken away by way of stealing but for PDP no way they will be awake till their mandate is restored.
