Fani-Kayode: I Am Ashamed To See Pastor Kumuyi And His Wife With Buhari
PDP Chieftain Femi Fani-Kayode has called out the Senior pastor of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Kumuyi and his wife, Esther, over their recent visit to President Buhari at the state house Abuja.
In a post he shared on his Facebook page this afternoon the former Aviation Minister expressed his displeasure at the clergyman’s visit to President Buhari.
FFK says he is ashamed and outraged by the visit.
Read what he wrote below
My paternal great grandfather (my grandfather’s father), Rev. Emmanuel Adelabi Kayode, was an Anglican priest. He was educated by the Christian missionaries and the Anglican Church and he studied theology at Fourah Bay College in Freetown, Sierra Leonne which was at that time a satellite campus of the United Kingdom’s Universty of Durham. In 1892 he graduated with honors with a Master of Arts degree in theology.
He was the first Anglican priest to introduce Christianity to the ancient town of Ile-Ife in the Osun province of the western region of the old Southern Protectorate of Nigeria and he was the first to build and Pastor a Church there.
He pastored the Church in Ile-Ife for many years before he was later transferred to Ondo province to head another branch of the Anglican Church for a further 16 years. After that he was posted to Ijebu province where he headed the local branch of the Anglican Church until he went into retirement in the old Lagos colony.
He was a deeply courageous man who loved the Lord passionately, who was totally dedicated and committed to the spreading of the gospel, who served the Church all his life and who was a great, powerful and fiery orator and preacher.
My second paternal great grandfather was
Rev. Joseph Suberu Fanimokun. He was my grandmother’s father. He was also educated by the Anglican Church and he also graduated with honors in 1892 from Fourah Bay College in Freetown, Sierra Leonne.
He was also later ordained as an Anglican priest. He was appointed Principal of the famous Christian Mission Society (CMS) Grammar School in the Lagos colony in 1896 and he remained principal until 1914. CMS Grammar School is the first and oldest secondry school in Nigeria.
These facts, coupled with the fact that I am a devout and practising Evangelical/Pentecostal Christian, are a pointer to my rich Christian heritage and I am very proud of that.
It is precisely because of that heritage that I have profound respect for the Body of Christ and that I revere all genuine men and women of God.
I have the deepest affection for each of them even where and when I do not totally agree with all their views, actions and submissions.
Yet despite that once in a while that affection is put to the test and my patience and good faith is exhausted.
The picture below provides a good example of this. Frankly it is difficult for me to fathom or fully comprehend what is going on there.
I see the much-loved and highly respected Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi of Deeper Life (one of the greatest Churches on the African continent and a pioneer Church within the Pentecostal denomination in Nigeria) and his wife felicitating with a man under whose watch more innocent and defenceless Nigerians, and particularly Christians, have been slaughtered than any other in the history of our country.
So much innocent blood has flowed under Buhari yet Pastor Kumuyi and his wife are still comfortable with smiling and shaking hands with him and neither has he said one word publicly about Leah Sharibu.
I and many others are saddened by this. This is all the more so because I happen to love Pastor Kumuyi and the Deeper Life Church. I always have and I always will.
Yet sadly I also feel a deep sense of shame and outrage about this outing. For how long must a few of our clerics embarass the Body of Christ and Christendom by bowing before our oppressors and encouraging them to continously torment, afflict and terrorise our people.
Pastor Kumuyi’s photoshoot with Buhari reminds me of the famous picture of Pope Pius X11 shaking hands with and commending Adolf Hitler during the course of World War 11. The Catholic Church never lived it down and was compelled to tender a public apology for this grave error almost 50 years later.
Let us hope that one day every man and woman of God, whether he or she be a Pastor, Bishop, General Overseer or Archbishop, that has in any way supported, encouraged, applauded or colluded with the evil tyrant that has afflicted, scourged and plagued our land and our people over the last 3 years and six months will find the decency and courage to apologise for it.
Let us hope that more of our clerics can find the courage of the late Bishop Ajayi Crowther, the late Apostle Ayo Babalola, the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, the late Rev. Musa Asake, Rev. Ayo Oritsejafor, Bishop Emmanuel Bolanle Gbonigi, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor David Ibiyomi, Dr. Paul Eneche, Prophet T.B. Joshua, CAN President Rev. Samson Ayokunle, Pastor Paul Adefarasin. Bishop El Buba, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, Apostle Samson Suleiman, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, Pastor Rhoda Awiliki and so many others.
They and countless other leaders of the clergy from all over the country that have remained true to their calling, stood firm in the face of tyranny, refused to bow to evil, spoken truth to power and stood up against the manifest injustice that has gripped the land are our pride and joy.

So Christianity in Nigeria has been reduced to a religion of hate. Have you ever asked yourself whether God gave him a message for Buhari? All you bigots that are saying he is a business man who runs a church, where you there when God called him to ministry and can you tell us the exact words God spoke to him in respect of his purpose here on earth? With this kind of hatred spewing out from the mouth of the so called believers, God can extend Buhari’s tenure until you learn how to love your neighbour just as Christ has thought us to. All the MOG that have been cursing from their pulpits whenever they have the chance to, the word of God is clear. The causeless curse shall not stand. One thing I thank God for is that He is sovereign. No man can decide for Him what to do. If you like take a fast that will last till election day, the will of God must prevail be it in favour of Buhari or against him. Instead of praying that the Lord should bestow wisdom on all elected and appointed leaders you are praying death for them when the Bible clearly states that we should pray for the leaders. God is watching and laughing and He is recording all vain words you spew out from your mouth. God created everyone one of us for His purpose/will and until you understand that you will talk like the foolish and that is why the Bible says my people perish for lack of knowledge and I asked how will they acquire knowledge when they don’t read the word. They only wait for their pastors to read and interpret for them. Hmmmm…..God will help Nigeria from the hands of those who are dividing the country on religious and tribal lines.

What Kumuyi really said in his visit.
The General Superintendent, Deeper Life Bible Church, Worldwide, Pastor William Kumuyi, on Sunday regretted that Nigeria’s development has not been able to match its great possibilities.
Kumuyi said this in a sermon he delivered at an interdenominational church service held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja to commemorate Nigeria’s 58th independence.
The theme of the service was ‘Harnessing our diversity for national development.’
Taking the text of his sermon from 1 Corinthians 12:14-27, the clergyman likened Nigeria to the Corinthian church, which he described as one of the most gifted churches in the New Testament but failed to utilise its diversified gifts for collective greatness.
He said, “No doubt, our nation, like the Corinthian Church, is endowed with highly resourceful citizens by the Almighty God.
“Selfless and committed to our national development, we could easily become the envy of many nations.
“But our national development has not matched our great possibilities like Corinth.”
Kumuyi added, “We (Nigerians) are obsessed with strife and personality cult. We are blinded by selfish ingratitude. We take pride in harmful dissipations.
“Crimes against our fellow men are taking too much toll on our national life. Our families are under siege. We seem to be losing conscience in the nation.
“Selfless sacrifice for the good of others is waning. We are toeing the path of previous nations that destroyed themselves.
“Our lack of discernment is weakening the church and the nation. Our reactionary individualism may deprive us of personal and national greatness.”
For the ways out of the many national problems, Kumuyi asked Nigerians to be ready to rethink national priorities, repent, reconcile for peaceful partnership, reconnect for purposeful pursuit, recommit to positive principles, redirect national plans and projects as well as renew the passion for progress.
He said once these were done, the nation would move forward. The General Superintendent, Deeper Life Bible Church, Worldwide, Pastor William Kumuyi, on Sunday regretted that Nigeria’s development has not been able to match its great possibilities.

Hatred is never part of Christianity. The question is that you Ibos condemning the pastor for visiting your so called sinner, don’t you sell your goods (market) to Muslims? If you do, while condemning a servant of God that doesn’t have any personal property for himself. Be careful and remember: touch not my anointed and do my prophet no evil.

That is why God does not answer Nigerian pastors prayers . and that is the reason , pastors are buildings houses with poor church members tithes and offering money . No corrupt president would have rule Nigeria if Nigerian pastors were real . people should stop depending on pastors . Christ died to give us direct access to God , not through a fake pastor who is out for money . the Bible tell us that light and darkness cannot work together , why must a true man of God beg or accept money from a corrupt president ? In fact some pastors are secret politicians .

Jesus Christ which we all profess to follow was the kind of man who spoke truth to power devoid of any fear or favour. Any so-called Man of God who by necessary implication has stepped into the shoes of Christ by reason of his office and who cannot live up to this standard has not only lost the respect that comes with that office but same is entitled to be judged in the last days. JOHN 12:48. But how can ordinary words judge without people speaking them? Well-done FFK.

FFK we love u for whom u re and what u believe in which is the truth. Millions of Nigerians were ashamed too not only u. How can a dipper life member who resides in the north after losing his / her entire family in the hands of fulani herdsmen feel to watch his/her pastor praying for the chief prist of the killers called herdsmen. Kumuyi is a total disgrace to the body of Christ.

This is nothing but the spirit of old prophet at work in Kumuyi, a man that is well respected by the body of Christ.
How could you be one of those who secretly and openly support Buhari, a man who hates the Christian faith? Why have you chosen not to tell this man that he needs to tell his Islamist brothers that they must release Leah Sharibu?
Why have you chosen to not tell him to tell him that the killing of Christians in the Middle-belt and other parts of the North by the Islamic Fulani herdsmen must stop?
Did your Bible not show you how prophet Samuel treated king Saul?
Did you not see have Moses addressed Pharaoh?
Why have you chosen to play the role of the old prophet which led to the death of another prophet?
Why do you choose to support and pray for a man whose nepotic, tribalistic, religious-bias government which has brought so much sorrow, tears, agony, destruction, poverty and death upon the people?
Why have you chosen the path of Meals in 2015? Even Mbaka is now asking the people he led to bondage to rise and take their country back.
Why have you refused not to join God to fight this battle we are in?
The judgement of God is coming.

Go And Read Romans 13:1-15 And See If Pastor Kumuyi Did Anything Wrong. And By The Way, It Is Not Only Kumuyi That Has Gone To See Pmb, Others Have Gone Too. Equally, He May Be “Old Prophet” As You Said, But, The Holy Spirit In Him Is Not Old. Thank You

Read Acts 23, 24 And 26, How Did Paul The Apostle Treat King Agrippa Who Hates Christian? How Did He Treat Governor Felix And Co? The Way God Operate In Them Differs. If You Want Any Pastor To Act Like Moses Did To Pharohao, There Will Be Problem. God Specifically Told Moses How To Act To Pharaoh. The New Testament Teaches That We Should Treat Our Leaders Well Even If They Appear To Be Wicked.

ALL EYES ON KWANKWASO
September 30, 2018
Kwankwaso
By Tony Olutomiwa
Ahead of the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party, opinions are divided on thepossible outcome of the political gathering which could make or mar the corporate objective of stopping President MuhammaduBuhari at the general election next year.
While the party would be pursuing a legitimate cause,a democratic order, the process of accomplishing this major task is now at issue, thereby making it imperative for the party’s leadership to apply tact, discipline and utmost responsibility. Indeed, the fidelity of both the process and outcome is critical if the party must use this outing to announce its democratic rebirth.
This is at the heart of palpable apprehension over the convention even as many Nigerians, in spite of the rampaging propaganda by the ruling party, regard any serious challenge to Buhari at the next election as a worthyenterprise. This can only invigorate the polity and advance our democratic practice in the face of contentious quality of leadership and governance in the country.
Expectedly, the PDP presidential field consists of political gladiators who have also been campaigning for the sole presidential ticket. Although some believe the high number of contestants is avoidable especially going by the implication of such hot contest among many established politicians, yet others see it as a measure of strength for the PDP. Consequently, the primary process is a remedy, an inevitablemeans now left to pick the candidate since the consensus modality had also proved unrealistic.
To the pundits, however, the interest mostly now is who among the aspirants can really come tops at the end of the day. It is already noted that almost every contender in the race is worthy to emerge the flagbearer but to the extent that he gets the maximum endorsement of the delegates at the convention. In this regard, some strategic factors will come into play like the contestant’s name recognition, national spread, leadership character and identity, antecedents, the zone and region of contestant, ability to win as a compelling match to Buhari at the election proper and of course the money factor.
Of all these factors that have come to characterize our polity over the years, I think the issue of money in national politics is most undesirable and should be discouraged in a systematic manner especially via institutional mechanism by laying emphasis on leadership competence, vision and character.
Thus in the nitty-gritty of the coming contest, the outcome of which may not be decided by monetary inducements, one shinning light that is subject of strong interest across board is Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Yes, it is understandable why all eyes are now on Kwankwaso: his immense cross-country appeal represents a huge potential for winning not only at the primary but also at the general election thereby handing the PDP a major victory now being coveted as a matter of national pride, regeneration and historical redemption.
This is the crux of the matter. Kwankwaso is favouredby the major indices of what are at stake in both the primary and the consequential general election next year. Besides coming from the North West, where the huge votes reside and a strategic move to decimate Buhari’s electoralinfluence, he is a hero of the masses who believe the former Kano governor is a promise keeper. This is what “amana” represents in his Kwankwasiyya political ideology. Amana means trust. His ardent followers across the country, many of whom are delegates at the convention, are rooting for a new president who will dutifully work for the long forgotten common man.
They want a uniter, a liberal and a moderate who is not beholden to ethnic bigotry and irredentism. So the concern now transcends immediate gratification but what the delegates, their families and indeed our dear nation could benefit from a compassionate and competent president who will end the pervasive fear and uncertainty and who will banish hunger and poverty. And they know Kwankwaso’srecord of achievements.
They can attest to hisantecedents of competence, serious and responsible leadership in every position he has held in the last 26 years: from being the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives in the third republic to his tenure as a two-term governor of Kano State, former minister of defence, special envoy to Darfur and Somalia and now senator representing Kano Central. The humble, deep –thinking and pro-poorKwankwaso has contested elections 15 times and won 13 of the contests. Putting this intocontext in Sokoto recently, Kwankwaso admonished delegates thus “Make sure you elect somebody who can not only win the election but can deliver after the election”.
Thus the consciousness at the convention shouldbe for the delegates to relate their actions to the necessity not only to win at this stage of the big battle but thinking seriously about who among the aspirants can realistically win big for the PDP at the general election in February. From all indications, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwasois the one and who should get the patriotic nod of the delegates by voting for him en-masse.
