Biafra: Afaraukwu Community Calls On Ikpeazu To Ensure Return Of Nnamdi Kanu’s Father
Members of the Afaraukwu community in Abia State have called on the State Governor, Ikezie Ikpeazu, to ensure that their elusive traditional ruler and father of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, HRM Eze Sir I.O.Kanu was reunited with his family.
The President General of Afaraukwu Development Union, Chief J.C. Ezebuiro said Ikpeazu knows what to do to reunite Kanu’s father with members of the community.
Ezebuiro made the appeal when people of Afaraukwu Ibeku community paid Ikpeazu a courtesy call at the state’s Government House in Umuahia, the state capital, yesterday.
Pa Kanu has been missing since September 2017 when military officers invaded the traditional ruler’s palace in Afaraukwu community.
Speaking during the visit, Ezebuiro said, “Eze Ibeawuchi can tell some applauded the Governor for his developmental strides and assured him of the support of the community in his re-election bid.
He said, “Talking about Security, you have been uncompromising, in education Abia is setting the pace, in infrastructure, you have set a standard and under your watch, Abia has returned back to her lost glory in Agriculture, the state have also become indomitable in Sports.
“The grief and psychological trauma which the people are going through as a result of the sad event of September 2017, when the military unleashed mayhem on our community, coupled with the sudden disappearance of our foremost Traditional Ruler, HRM Eze Sir I. O. Kanu, The Egwu Ukwu II of Afaraukwu.
“We believe that the Governor being a true son of Igboland will know what to do in order to reunite our traditional ruler with our community.”
