JUST IN: APC, Buhari Urged To Drop Osinbajo, Pick Running Mate From South East
Ahead of next years’ general election, a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Linus Okorie yesterday told President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to drop Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and pick his running mate for the election from the South-East geopolitical zone if he was serious about his commitment to support emergence of a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction in 2023.
This, Okorie said would demonstrate President Buhari’s commitment to Igbo agenda in 2023 and his support for the emergence of Nigerian President of Igbo extraction in 2023. Okorie, who is representing Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo federal constituency in the House of Representatives was reacting to opposition of South-East Governors and the PDP leaders on the choice of former Anambra state governor, Mr. Peter Obi as running mate of former vice president of Atiku Abubakar for next year’s presidential election.
He, however, urged the governors and the PDP leaders who were aggrieved on Obi’s emergence to congratulate their son and Atiku for recognizing the zone by picking Obi as his running mate for the general election while advising the aggrieved South-East governors to avoid being sentimental over the choice of Obi and rally support for the PDP VP candidate.
