Allow Biafra Referendum To Hold, Cleric Advises FG
Fresh from the end of his 40-day dried fasting and praying period with his congregation, Bishop Abraham Chris Udeh has advised the Nigerian authorities and the United Nations (UN) to allow Biafran agitators to conduct a referendum and possibly go if they succeed.
Bishop Udeh, the General Overseer of Mount Zion Faith Global Liberation Ministries Inc. (a.k.a By Fire By Fire), Nnewi, Anambra State, said the prayer points of the church during the fasting period were for God to bring down the Kingdom of the East which he called Biafra and also to ensure free and fair elections in the country in 2019.
Speaking to newsmen in his church, Udeh called on Nigerian government to support Biafra’s freedom according to the United Nations guidelines and allow the referendum to take place.
The bishop noted that the people of Eastern Nigeria were no longer comfortable to be part of Nigeria because of the activities of Boko Haram insurgents, Fulani herdsmen and incessant disturbances in the North which he regretted were all targeted at the Christians in Nigeria.
“I call on everyone from the old Eastern region to rise up and support the struggle to actualize Biafra. I’m not a member of the IPOB or MASSOB but I’m a freedom fighter cleric. They control all our oil blocks but we are here suffering poverty in the midst of bountifulness.
“We are being manipulated. They play on our sensibilities. Buhari is a Fulani man and Atiku is another Fulani man planning to take over from him. Who is fooling who? And before you know it the Fulani will rule Nigeria for another 12 years. I do not have confidence in Nigeria’s elections again after Ekiti and Osun charade called elections. It is better we stop spending taxpayers’ money in the name of conducting elections in this country,” he stated.
Bishop Udeh wondered why a new minimum wage for workers could not be put at N50,000 “whereas each federal lawmaker receives N36 million and above in addition to other allowances per month for doing nothing”.
He prophesied that the 2019 general elections would be do-or-die “and I see blood flowing on the streets”.
