IPOB Has The Right To Boycott 2019 Election — Uko

Elliot Ugochukwu Uko

Elliot Ugochukwu-Uko, the founder of Igbo Youth Movement and the Secretary of the Eastern Consultative Assembly, ECA has reacted to plans by pro-biafra group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to boycott 2019 president election.

IPOB has continued to warn that no son or daughter of Igboland should be seen outside on February 16 for the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Nigeria.

According to IPOB, any person or persons who venture to come out on that day would be seen as enemy of Biafra, supporting the continued suffering, kidnapping, abduction, killing, massacre and total marginalization of the Biafran people.

But Evangelist Uko, reacting to IPOB’s decision, said the pro-Biafran group has every right to boycott election owing to the treatment meted out on them by President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

He explained that IPOB has fundamental right to boycott election, hence they would not be attacked for their decision.

Speaking to DAILY POST, Uko said: “IPOB is angry with Nigeria and rightly so, they have been killed, detained, blackmailed and hunted down and labeled terrorist group, which they are not. IPOB is popular among our people. We respect their decision, nobody is angry with them.

“Well, the IPOB have a right to boycott the election if they so choose. We also have a right to vote out Buhari if we so choose. We have not attacked the IPOB for boycotting the election, nobody has attacked them and IPOB have not attacked anybody which chooses to vote. It is called fundamental human right and freedom of choice.

“They want to boycott, we want to vote out Gen. Buhari. The most imminent task before all Nigerians today is to gently remove him from Aso Rock.“

Sell out a monkey and buy a dog… You still live with a squatting creature. Voting out a Fulani man and voting in another Fulani man. What’s the point?
