Election Boycott: IPOB Replies Asari Dokubo Over Attack On Nnamdi Kanu
The Deputy Leader of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Uche Okafor-Mefor on Tuesday said former militant leader, Asari Dokubo should be ashamed of himself for canvassing for votes ahead of the upcoming elections.
Asari had rubbished IPOB’s call asking Biafrans and Igbo to boycott the forthcoming elections.
Responding, Okafor-Mefor said its leader, Nnamdi Kanu is not an “ordinary human being” and a poor man like the former militant leader.
In the statement obtained by ORIENTAL TIMES, Okafor-Mefor said Kanu was a freedom fighter and not out for resource control like Dokubo.
He said: “We cannot mix resource control with freedom of the people of Biafra. Allow me to state unequivocally that Nnamdi Kanu is not for resource control.
“He is absolutely for freedom of Biafra and her people and as such evidently too powerful and sophisticated for certain small, jolted minds that lack discipline and unbridled, decent sense of collectedness.
“Our commitment is absolute, our resolve insurmountable, it must sink into the Consciousness of these political contractors who claim to be freedom fighters that our Decision to boycott this already rigged presidential election is irreversible and settled unless our demands for equity, fairness and justice are met”.
“You said you are no longer a Nigerian, what then are you doing canvassing for voting in Nigeria. Do you think Nnamdi Kanu is like you that collected Amnesty money from Yar’Adua and the regime of Obasanjo/Atiku that slaughted thousands of our brethren in Odi and other areas.
“Are you not ashamed of yourself for canvassing for the election of the man who was VP when Odi was put to the sword. You fought for resource control and failed so you want Nnamdi Kanu to repeat your mistakes? No! It will never ever happen. Nnamdi Kanu is a freedom fighter not a resource control advocate like you. There lies the difference between two of you.
“You allowed politicians to purchase your conscience, Nnamdi Kanu is not an ordinary human being and very soon you will realise this. Nnamdi Kanu is not as hungry as you are because a poor man should not embark on freedom fighting. Go back to your business interests in Cotonou and leave freedom fighting to freedom fighters. Keep ranting for your one Nigeria. I pray you don’t suffer the fate of our illustrious heroes like Isaac Adaka Boro and Ken Saro-Wiwa.”

Uche Mefor my question to you is that, election boycott will it give you the biafran you are looking for? if your answer is yes why not you achieve your goal in your first time of not telling the igbos not to vote because this is not the first you asked the Igbos not to vote. I remember when Nnamdi kanu radio biafra posted a picture of Russian made nuclear missiles painted with Biafra flag, calming it’s biafra nuclear missile that can strike North. I remember when they posted videos of BSS that they are ready to defend Biafra land when Nigeria army strike them, Nnamdi kanu could not provide any single weapon which he promised BSS, many youths died for his deceits and lies. Uche Mefor, I am disappointed that you get involved Asari this way, no matter what he has said about Kanu. You should know better that he has been under pressure since his verbal support to Kanu all these years. Since kanu is no more around, the politicians cum freedom fighters may have convinced him otherwise, it is IPOB responsibility to maintain their cool and continue to put him through. He is shifting and talking based on popular opinion of the acclaimed political elites of Biafra land who must have being paying homage to his house. This is opportunity the enemies of the project is waiting for the catch unto. Who will argue that Asari’s support to IPOB is not unsettling the enemies of the project then that person is not a good political analyst? Asari still command influence in the Niger Delta, some people are still at his command, so why should the high command of IPOB be entangled with cross fire insults and abusive comments. It does not show maturity at all. IPOB should rather caution an army of uncontrolled insult and abusive followers that have access to its website to publish anything they feel like. constitutionally proscribed people are outlawed people. They don’t have legitimacy to vote in an entity that proscribed them. Aticulators and their co travelers should fight so that the proscription placed on IPOB by South East Governors and Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in conjunction with Nigeria government will be lifted to enable IPOB eligible to vote because as it stance now IPOB is proscribed in Nigeria making it constitutionally and logically illegal for them to cast their vote …..
