Biafra: IPOB Sit-At-Home Cripple Businesses In Awka
The Anambra State capital woke up on a wobbling note as business activities were initially paralyzed as a result of the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
ORIENTAL TIMES reports that IPOB had ordered a sit-at-home today for the remembrance of the people who died during the Biafran war which lasted for three years.
However, things improved from 9am when inter-city movements picked up with buses and tricycles conveying commuters to their destinations.
Workers trickled out while police and other law enforcement agents kept eagle eyes on the environment.
Many businesses including some banks closed while a few that opened operated with caution.
The usual inter-state transportation was zero no vehicles from neighbouring states plied the road.
