2023 Presidency: Condemn Okorocha Now Or Apologize To Amaechi, Ikwerre Youths Tell Peter Obi

Peter Obi

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 election, Peter Obi, has been called on by a socio-cultural organization in Rivers State, Ikwerre Youth Movement, to apologize to former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

The group stated that if the former governor of Anambra state could not condemn Senator Rochas Okorocha over his statement on Igbo presidency, then he should apologise for attacking Amaechi over a similar statement.

The former Governor of Rivers State had stated that for the Igbo to be successful in their demand for 2023 presidency, they must play national politics.

Obi in his reaction stated that Amaechi lacked political relevance in Rivers, he further stated that the former Minister of Transportation cannot determine the fortune of the South-East in the 2023 presidential race.

Recall that Okorocha upon his inauguration into the Senate had advised the leaders of South-East to reach out to other regions if they must produce a President in 2023.

The Chairman of IYM in Emohua, Lucky Worlu, in his reaction, called on Obi to condemn Okorocha on the statement or apologise to their son, Amaechi, immediately.

Worlu added that what Amaechi stated was the truth on how the South-Eastern region would produce a President in 2023, urging Ohanaeze Ndigbo to commence consultations early.
