Law Graduate Allegedly Stabs Sibling To Death In Anambra

A law graduate, Victor Ohale, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, is in police custody in Awka, Anambra state for allegedly stabbing his 19-year-old younger brother, Kelechi Ohale to death in Awka.

Confirming the incident, the Anambra state police public relations officer, SP Haruna Mohammed said that the 28-year-old suspect who hails from Owerri, Imo state but was living with his brother at No 8, Oraeri Street, GRA, Awka, had stabbed his brother with five knives while they were at home.

He said that the police, on getting wind of the incident, visited the scene and rushed the victim to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka where he was certified dead and his corpse deposited in the morgue.

“Suspect allegedly used knife and stabbed his younger brother one Kelechi Ohale ‘m’ aged 19 years of the same address but hails from Emekuku in Owerri North local government area of Imo state, on the head.

“Scene was visited by police detectives and victim rushed to the hospital where he was certified deadon arrival at Amaku Teaching hospital Awka by the Medical doctor and corpse deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

“Meanwhile, the suspect who was a law graduate from UNIZIK recently returned from NYSC training at Owerri in Imo state.

“Consequently, five knives used in perpetrating the crime were also recovered from the suspect and registered as exhibit.”

As at the time of file of this report, the cause of the violent act against the sibling had not been ascertained. However, the PPRO said that the case was still under investigation and that the suspect would be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
