I Killed My Landlady For Calling Me A Stammerer ― Suspect
The Ekiti State Police command has arrested a 39-year old tenant Mr Tunmise Abraham for the alleged killing of his landlady identified as Mrs Olanrewaju Bukola.
The suspect was said to have committed the crime at Olorunda area of Ado-Ekiti on Thursday last week.
The commissioner of Police in the State, Amba Asuquo, who disclosed this while parading the suspect at the police headquarters in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday noted that the suspect absconded to Akure in Ondo state after the crime where he was later arrested by operatives of the command.
Asuquo said, “the Suspect after committing by the act relocated to Ondo state where the operatives of the command through intelligence-led operations arrested him. The arrested suspect confessed that a few numbers of time, the deceased resorted to calling him all sorts of names like stammerer, mad person which angered him.
“This generated into a fight and the suspect overpowered the deceased by collecting the stick she was holding forcefully from the deceased and used the stick to beat the deceased on the head which resulted to serious head injury. He did not stop at that, he further found a rope which he used to tire up the hands of the woman.”
The police commissioner noted that the suspect upon noticing the death of the woman packed his belongings out of fear and ran to Akure, the Ondo state capital for cover.
He assured residents of the state of the police commitment to sustain the war against criminality and other social vices in the state.
Abraham confirmed killing the woman saying she called him all kinds of derogatory names anytime there was disagreement between them.
“On that day, I went to her that I want to move out from the house and I demanded a refund of money from her. She started calling me all names including a stammerer which actually angered me to kill her,” he said.
