President Buhari Reacts To Robert Mugabe’s Death
President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has reacted to the death of Robert Mugabe, former president of Zimbabwe.
President Buhari on Friday on behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, sent a condolence message to the people and government of Zimbabwe on the passing away of its former President.
Buhari’s message was contained in a statement made available to ORIENTAL TIMES on Friday and signed by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina.
“On behalf of the Federal Government, President Muhammadu Buhari sends condolences to the government and people of Zimbabwe over the passing of the founding father and former President, Robert Mugabe, 95,” the statement reads.
“The President commiserates with family members, friends and political associates of the political activist who fought for the independence of the country from colonial rule, and lived most of his life in public service.”
President Buhari believes Mugabe’s sacrifices, especially in struggling for the political and economic emancipation of his people, will always be remembered by posterity.”
“He prays that the Almighty God will grant the soul of the former president rest and comfort his loved ones.”
ORIENTAL TIMES earlier reported that Mugabe died on Friday at the age of 95 and condolences have been pouring in after the death of the African leader.
