Ohanaeze Youths Ask Buhari, Reps To Probe Customs Boss, Hameed Ali
The Ohanaeze Youth Council Worldwide has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and members of the House of Representatives to beam their searchlights on the activities of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Hameed Ali and his men.
The group made the call at a press conference on Friday in Owerri, the Imo State.
One of its leaders, Mr Igboayaka Igboayaka, who addressed the press, said the activities of customs officials were disturbing genuine Igbo businessmen in Lagos.
According to him, the customs officials were engaged in extortion and sharp practices.
Igboayaka said: “The attention of the Ohanaeze Youth Council has been drawn to the series of wanton and unabated extortion of Igbo traders and businessmen in the country, especially in Lagos State by corrupt officials of the Nigeria Customs Service.
“President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly should thoroughly probe the Comptroller-General of Customs, Col Hameed Ali and the activities of other officials of the NCS over their bid to strangulate Igbo businesses in the country.”
