FFK Chides Tinubu, Osinbajo As Buhari Removes Fowler, Nominates ‘Northern Muslim’ As New FIRS Boss
A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has lampooned Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over the nomination of Muhammad M. Nami as the new chairman for the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday appointed Muhammad M. Nami as the new chairman of the FIRS.
Nami’s appointment was disclosed in a statement issued by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President.
Nami, a tax consultant and graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, replaces Babatunde Fowler, whose tenure expired yesterday, Monday, December 9.
Shehu said in the statement that Fowler is expected to hand over to the most senior director on the board, who will take charge, pending the Senate confirmation of the new board.
Reacting in a statement on his verified handle on micro-blogging site, Twitter, Femi Fani-Kayode condemned Buhari for appointing a Northern Muslim.
The PDP chieftain also accused Tinubu and Osinbajo of betraying the people of the Southwest.
He wrote, “Finally Fowler of FIRS is out and, just as I predicted, he has been replaced by a northern Muslim.
“When will Tinubu and Osinbajo finally accept that they were outflanked, outmanoeuvred, fooled and scammed into betraying their own people by the Fulani cabal. More to come!”
