British Parliament Votes In Favour Of Brexit
Members of the British parliament have voted in support of the ongoing move by Boris Johnson to remove the United Kingdom from the European Union by January 31, 2020.
Boris Johnson had claimed that Brexit would lead to the progressive development of Britain.
But Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn told parliamentarians to vote against it, adding that there was a better option to Brexit.
BBC reports that the members voted 358 to 234 in favor of the EU (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill, which now goes on to further scrutiny in the House of Commons and House of Lords.
The bill seeks to block the extension of the transition period as well as ensure that EU and the UK keep to the terms beyond 2020.
