Fani-Kayode Reacts To Deployment Of Troops To Nnamdi Kanu’s Hometown Few Days To Parents’ Burial

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to the deployment of Nigerian soldiers to Afara Ukwu, Ibeku in Umuahia, Abia State, the hometown of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Recall that ORIENTAL TIMES reported on Sunday, February 2, that residents of Afaraukwu Ibeku were thrown into serious panic after over 100 fierce-looking soldiers stormed the community.

Reason for the deployment of the troops to the area might not be unconnected to the burial of the parents of Nnamdi Kanu’s parents, late Eze Israel Okwu-Kanu and Lolo Ugoeze Sally which is slated for February 14.

Reacting to the activities of the military in the relatively peaceful community, Fani-Kayode described the deployment as “reckless and insensitive”, adding that Kanu should be allowed to bury his parents in peace.
