JUST IN: Protesters Storm Douye Diri’s House, Damage Properties [PHOTOS]

Persons suspected to the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday attacked the home of Bayelsa State governor-elect Duoye Diri, destroying several properties.

The attack on the home located in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, came after the Supreme Court sacked David Lyon as the governor-elect and ordered that Douye of the People’s Democratic Party, be declared as authentic winner of the November 16, 2019 governorship election in the state on Thursday, February 13.

The court said Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, who was Lyon’s running mate in the election, forged the certificate he presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Vehicles at Diri’s home at Imgbi Road, Amarata, Yenagoa, were destroyed with stones and hard substances.

His building according to Punch was not spared either. The window classes as seen in the photo were destroyed.

On the other hand, thousands of women took to the streets blocking major roads to protest the judgement insisting that no handover of power would be conducted in the state without Lyon.
