VIDEO: Sen Abaribe’s Powerful Speech At Nnamdi Kanu Parents’ Funeral
Lawmaker representing Abia-South Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe was at the funeral service of Late Eze Israel Okwu-Kanu and Ugoeze Sally; the parents of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) which held at St. Andrew Anglican Church, Isiama Afaraukwu-Ibeku Umuahia, the capital of Abia State.
Other dignitaries who were present at the burial include: Former Anambra State Governor and PDP Vice Presidential candidate during the 2019 general elections, Dr. Peter Obi, Senator Victor Umeh, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara.
Delivering his speech during the church service, Abaribe who spoke in Igbo language expressed sadness at the death that killed both parents of the Ipob leader at same time.
He however prayed that God will bless and keep the family the late monarch and his wife left behind.
The speech of the Senate Minority leader was greeted with shouts of approval by people believed to be IPOB members who were present in their numbers in and outside the church premises.
