Former Aviation Minister Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has chided President Muhammadu Buhari for his seeming unperturbeness over the case of coronavirus in Nigeria.

Joining other Nigerians in criticizing Buhari, Femi Fani-Kayode stated that the president would have held a national broadcast to describe the outbreak of coronavirus as “the greatest tragedy in world history” had it been it affected only cows.

He wrote: “If cows had been the ones affected by coronavirus and were dying all over the world Buhari would have done a national broadcast by now and told us that what we are facing is the greatest tragedy in world history. Which type of leader puts the lives of cows before that of human beings?”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Ehanire Osagie has said that the Federal Government can’t regulate the price of sanitizers and face mask which have more than tripled in price since coronavirus was confirmed in Nigeria.

Speaking on Channels Television, Ehanire said, “The government is concerned about prices going up. But you see, we operate a market autonomy. Those who are traders and suppliers are doing a brisk business by trying to increase importation and those who manufacture are also doing a brisk business scaling up the manufacturing of all these products.

“So it is not surprising that the prices go up at the moment. The government makes sure that those agencies and organisations that need to have these materials have them.”
