Imo Community Laments Over Dilapidated Road Network, Appeals To Gov Uzodinma For Help

The people of Umuakali Naze, Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State have called on the government to come to their rescue over the bad road network bedevilling the area.

Speaking with ABN TV on Friday, a member of the community, Bernard Nnanna Nzerem said the government has for a long time neglected the community despite all appeal for intervention.

He further stated that Ogbosisi (Timber shade) road has for a long period remained a source of concern for the people, a situation that has made it difficult for vehicles to ply the road.

Mr. Nzerem further highlighted that the outbreak of COVID-19 has further worsened the situation, saying commercial activities in the community have been totally grounded as a result of the duo of the outbreak and bad road network.

He appealed to governor Hope Uzodimma to immediately come to the aid of the community and save them from further hardship.

Also corroborating his story, another member of the community, Chukwuma Nzeh described the situation as bad and shameful.

He said the little palliative work effected on the road during the Christmas season was through a communal effort.

According Mr. Nzeh, the rainy season has further worsened the situation of the road.

He pleaded with the government as soon as possible come to their aid.
