Peter Obi Distances Self From Poster On 2023 Presidency
Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has distanced himself from a poster with his picture as the presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the forthcoming presidential election in 2023.
Obi was the vice presidential candidate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar (under the PDP) in the 2019 presidential election.
The election was won by President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Obi, in a tweet on Saturday, said that he had no hand in the flier fielding him and former Governor of Kano state, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates.
“I am not a part of the poster being circulated. -PO,” he tweeted.
The poster design stated it was powered by one ‘Equity Group’.
The Twitter reactions trailing Obi’s post were calling on him to go for the presidential ticket.
The PDP is yet to react to the development as at the time of this report.
