Nnamdi Kanu Blasts People Condemning His Interventions In #EndSARS Protest
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has come out to blast people who have been criticizing his social media actions since the #EndSars protests began.
Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Wednesday October 21, disavowed statements credited to Kanu urging Igbos to attack Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.
In the statement, youths of Ohafia in Abia state were told to “capture” Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, to face trial for the alleged “role he played in the killing of #ENDSARS protesters in the state.”
The statement read partly, “Okezie Ikpeazu is in Asaga village Ohafia. He is hiding in the house of his Chief of Staff, one Ukpai Agwu Ukpai.
“Our youths in Ohafia are hereby instructed to capture him alive to face trial for the numerous murders he committed including the death of protesters yesterday (Tuesday) in Aba. On no account must he be allowed to leave Ohafia alive. Its an order.”
In the statement, he also urged the #EndSARS protesters not to give up, adding “the oppressors will try every option including shooting to quell the protest, but nobody should be deterred.
“We call on every youth, man and woman to join the protests now. This is the time everybody should identify with this movement to rescue our collective future and destiny from suffocation.”
Kanu also took to his Twitter handle on Wednesday to ask Southern Nigerians not to tolerate a “Northern muslim using army to kill unarmed southerns protesers in Lagos.” He wrote;
“It’s shocking that Southern Nigerians are tolerating a Northern Muslim @NGRPresident using the Army to KILL unarmed Southern #EndSARS protesters in Lagos, a Southern soil?”
Would a Southern Christian President ever contemplate killing unarmed Northern Muslim protesters in KANO?”
After receiving criticism for his perceived role in fueling the reprisal attacks as a result of the shootings and killings of #EndSars protesters, Kanu has now blasted his critics, telling them they should be ashamed of themselves.
“You should be ASHAMED of yourself if you’re amongst those CONDEMNING my interventions in the #EndSARS protest, especially that my interventions will endanger #Ndigbo.” Kanu wrote on his Twitter page on Thursday afternoon, October 22.
“You’re WRONG! Ndigbo & #IPOB (like EVERYONE else) have a RIGHT to participate in these protests. Get used to it!”
