Alleged Notorious Nigerian Drug Dealer Arrested In South Africa

An alleged notorious Nigerian drug dealer, Chukuwuebuka Kingsley Izuagwu, was on Thursday, November 19, remanded in custody by the East London Magistrate’s Court, South Africa.

He is expected back for a follow-up court appearance on December 7, 2020 to answer to drug dealing charges

The 31-year-old drug dealer was arrested in North End, East London, on Monday, 16 November 2020.

Izuagwu was arrested by the Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) assisted by the local Crime Intelligence Gathering team following a sting operation that was conducted over four days from the 12 to 16 November aimed at disrupting the drug dealing scourge in the area.

In the first controlled exchange, the team purchased R1000 worth of Tik which Izuagwu supplied from his North End flat. This was followed by two other orders worth a combined value of R10 000 which he delivered at Esplanade beachfront on two different occasions. The team swooped in on the target when he delivered the third consignment, weighing 20 grams and valued at about R5000-00 at the same beachfront area.

Izuagwu was then taken to his flat where a search uncovered about 260 grams of Tik valued at R 65 000. A small electronic scale, cell phones, an elephant tusk as well as over R50 000 in cash were seized for further investigation.
