22-Year-Old Man Shoots Mom In The Head For Telling Him To Get A Job

A 39-year-old woman, Fatoumata Danson has been shot in the head by her 22-year-old son, Musa Camara, in New York’s East Harlem area.

The mother of six, who was originally from The Gambia, worked as a home health aide.

Danson, who died on the spot, had told him to get a job so that he could support himself, police and news reports say.

In the Wednesday incident, police were called around 9.24 am after a 911 call reporting a shooting at an apartment building in the East Harlem area.

Police say they found Danson unconscious with a gunshot wound to her head. She was pronounced dead on the scene

Daily News reported that the victim’s 22-year-old son, Camara, fled the scene wielding a firearm and fired a shot at a bystander before police arrived.

However, the suspect, who has a history of mental illness, was apprehended shortly after he fled the scene.

He was reportedly taken into custody and subjected to psychiatric evaluation.

The suspect was charged with second-degree murder.

One of Danson’s other sons, Mohamed Camara, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for her funeral.

“Danson, a mother of six, came to America in the 90s with the plan of building a better life for herself and her family. She was one of the most kind hearted and family oriented people.

“Unfortunately, after having a rough relationship with her eldest son for a few years he decided to take her life on Tuesday morning. Sadly her life came to an end but she’s in a better place now,” Camara wrote.
