APC, PDP At War Of Words Over Insecurity In Imo
By Sampson Uhuegbu, Owerri
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have engaged in trade blames over spate of killings that had been recorded in the State.
This is coming after several houses were burnt in Oguta Local Government of the State and many people killed in the crises.
Though, PDP in the State says its attention has been drawn to reports alleging erroneously that its leaders are aiding the spate of insecurity in the state.
In a release signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Emenike Nmeregini, states that the party considers false allegations being peddled by the APC as largely frivolous, flippant and contemptuous.
“We nonetheless decided to respond so as to set the records straight and to provide Imolites useful insights into the disturbing and worrisome security situations in the state”.
In his swift reaction, the Imo APC has urged PDP in the State retract the derogatory statement against the ruling party.
The New Media Director General of the ruling APC, Cajethan Duke, accused the PDP of being excited over the security challenges being faced by the State.
“We do not want to join PDP in their hallucinations. We challenge them to come out and condemn the activities of the unknown gunmen in the State”.
