Ex-Imo, Lagos States Military Gov, Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Laid To Rest
As Cleric Decries Pull- him- down Syndromes Among Igbo, Exonarates IPOB From Anambra Mayhem

The remains of former military Governor of Imo and Lagos States; His Excellency, Rear Admiral Godwin Ndubuisi Kanu, Rtd, have been laid to rest at his compound, Ovim Autonomous community, in Isukwuato Local Government Area, Abia State.
In a funeral ocassion, first daughter of the deceased, Nnenna Ndubuisi- Kanu, said the commitment, intellect and toughness clearly carved her late father out in his preferred profession.
“He deligently served in diverse positions in the naval Command; ranging from Chief of Personal, Nerval headquarters; flag Officer, eastern fleet, flag Officer; Naval training Command and Director of Operations, joint Operations.”
Eealier in his admonition during the church service, The Primate of Methodist Church of Nigeria; His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanuche, lauded the examplary lifestyles the deceased exhibited during his lifetime and prayed God to repose his soul; as well as giving his family the hearts to bear the painful loss.
Dr. Kanuche, disclosed the late Admiral Kanu had planned to build a passonge for the Methodist church before he died and therefore advised the family members to ensure that legacies their father left behind should not be allowed to die.
He said that noting in life lasts forever except God who created heavens and the Earth; pointing out that Christians should always depend on God whom said remains the only source of inspirations.
“Anywhere you are, be at peace with one another. That is why we have a transactional government leaving our people without jobs. Let us have a transformational administration that would”.
He expressed sadness over the deplorable states of roads in the South East and opined that the only thing that can bring peace in the course is fairness, truthfulness and righteousness, charging leaders of the region to emulate the lives and times of the first Civilian Imo Governor, late Sam Mbakwe.
The prilate decried the pull -him- down syndrome that had remained the bane of people of Southeast and called for a rethink.
What is happening in Anambra is not IPOB activities. He called for change and spirit of fairness to exist.
Chief of Army Staff, Lf. Colonel Azubuike Ihejirika, Rtd, regretted, that the deceased was never expected to die by this moment and thanked the family and said it would take many books to capture all that he achieved in his shot period.
Chief of Naval Staff, A. Z. Gambo, said the Late Ndubuisi Kanu with the number: 0047, noted that he made impacts in the service when he held sway as Military Governor’s of Imo in 1977 and Lagos in 1988.
“He said patriotically be he retired in October, 1990. His death is a great loss not only to his family members, but Isukwuato nation, Abia State nay Nigeria as a whole.

” The killings in Anambra state are not carried out by the IPOB members. It was rather caused by the activities of overzealous politicians. I want to call for change and spirit of fairness to exist.”, he charged.
Governors of Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi and Ebonyi States were represented by their Deputies, described the deceased as a lover of worthy causes for Nigeria’s progress and citizens comfort, assuring that he would be motalized.
Also speaking, Uche Ogah, thanked those that attended the burial to grant their brother a befitting internment.He said if all hands should be put on deck, it would go a long way in unitng the South East region.
Ogah, charged the family to embrace peace and love one another in their family.
Senator Enyinnaya Abaraibe, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, Governor Hope Uzodimma; represented by his Deputy, Prof Placid Njoku, Senator Thoredore Orji, Minister of Mines& Steels, Ebonyi State Deputy Governor; Barrister Kelechi Igwe, Sampson Ogah, Barr. Cletus Ezem, Representives of all the security agencies, the clergymen, Traditional rulers, Captains of Industries and other dignitaries were also in attendance at the burial.
