Constitution Review: Imo NUJ Inaugurates 5-Man Committee

Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council, has constituted a five man committee to review the union’s Constitution.
The Commitee members include; Christian Nwokocha – Chairman, Max Chinedu Egere – Secretary, Sir Barth Kalakiya, Mr. Innocent Onyeukwu and Mrs Vivian Iwu.
Inaugurating the committee at the Union’s Congress held recently at the new NUJ Secretariat, Owerri, Chairman of NUJ in Imo State, Chief Chris Akaraonye said that the committee will identify areas in the constitution that require amendment and make appropriate recommendations to the State executive.
He stated that the Executive Commitee of the union has the responsibility to harmonise the recommendations of the committee.
They went further stating that the harmonised recommendations which will also serve as the position of the Imo State Council would be communicated to National Secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists for consideration.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Christian Nwokocha, assured the NUJ Exco and members, that he and his team will live up to expectations and carry out their assignment diligently.
The Commitee was mandated to conclude it’s assignment and submit her report in two weeks from the date of inauguration.
