JUST IN: Two Suspected Soldiers, 3 Others Nabbed For Kidnapping In Abia [VIDEO]
A five-man kidnapping gang including two suspected officers of the Nigerian Army have been nabbed and arrested by the Umucha Vigilante Group in Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
It was gathered from videos shared few hours ago on Facebook by a user, Enyinnaya Nwaigwe on Friday, that the gang was headed to a village in Isiala Ngwa to kidnap a man who just returned from Canada.
The video showed the two suspects adorned in military outfits who claimed to be soldiers while they answer questions as thrown by the vigilante operatives.
Nwaigwe in a post accompanying the videos wrote:
“The Umuacha Vigilante Group in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area has intercepted and arrested a five-man kidnap gang.
“The arrest was carried out in Umuacha village after serious interrogation and was discovered that the gang was heading to one villa in Isiala Ngwa South LGA to kidnap a man who just returned from Canada.
“It was gathered that two of the kidnap suspects are Officers of the Nigerian Army.
“Items recovered from them included
* 1 AK 47 riffle with double magazine
* Locally made double barrel pistol
* Army uniforms
* Some cartridges
* A Golf Car
*A Nissan Xterra Jeep, among other items.
“Kudos to the gallant men of the Umuacha Vigilante Group.”
