“Now That You’ve Won ₦1bn, Remember Us Who Are Not Insulting You” — Shehu Sani Tells Kanu

The immediate past senator representing the Kaduna Central senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted to the Abia State High Court judgment in favour of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The socio-political activist asked Kanu to remember him and others who have not insulted him now that he has won a whopping N1billion.

Oriental Times reports that Justice Ben Anya yesterday ordered the Federal Government to pay one billion naira compensation to Kanu over the violation of his fundamental human rights.

In his ruling, the judge declared Kanu’s arrest as illegal, and ordered the Federal Government to issue a public apology to him in three national dailies.

The IPOB leader had filed a fundamental right suit against the Federal Government before Justice Anya.

Kanu filed the suit through his Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor on the grounds of military invasion of his residence in 2017, his rearrest and torture in Kenya, his repatriation to Nigeria, amongst others.

However, the judge further ruled that the government should pursue a political solution in resolving Kanu’s trial.

Reacting, Sani declared that no appeal against the judgment would stand.

He also congratulated the IPOB leader for the victory.

On his Facebook page, Sani wrote “My Brother Nnamdi, now that you have won One billion Naira, remember those of us who are not insulting you. When you are out, I’ll tell you the names of all those open and hidden enemies.”

In a tweet, the former Kaduna Central Senator, added: “Brother Nnamdi, congratulations for your one billion Naira victory.

“No appeal against this judgment shall succeed. Remember those of us who are not insulting you. Relax Bro.”
