Ngige To Decide On 2023 Presidency In Easter
Senator Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, says that he will announce his intentions for the 2023 presidency by Easter.
The former governor of Anambra stated that he is still consulting with significant stakeholders in the country on the matter.
At the weekend, Ngige gave out empowerment facilities to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment’s Anambra office in Awka.
Overwhelmed by the empowerment, Anambra women led by Lady Nancy Okafor pleaded with Ngige to run for president.
She claimed that Ngige was the best candidate from the South East for the job.
Okafor stated that they had waited for his presidential proclamation but had received no answer, and that they were no longer satisfied with his silence on the matter.
“Because we don’t want to wait three months for you to decide whether or not to run,” she continued, “we’re forcing you to put your hat in the ring for that post.”
Ngige, who initially declined to comment on the matter, stated that he came for the empowerment program, which would assist them in establishing their families, and that this was the most important thing to him.
“This is phase two of the empowerment initiative to assist your enterprises,” he says. You will be jailed if you sell any of the resources; instead, use them to generate jobs and earn a living.”
He went on to say that the bags of rice were his personal donation to the people, and that the total value of the products was over N50 million.
“Among other things, there are water pumps for farmers, generating sets, dyers from the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, as well as an uncountable number of bags of rice from me, and they’re all for women.”
“I’d like to take this time to let you know that we’ll be doing stages 3 and 4 separately.”
“What I want to do is set up an addressee for our State party members,” the Minister explained.
“We’ve started political negotiations again,” Ngige remarked of the 2023 presidency. Please, give me around Easter where we’re going to have another session like this to discuss your request.
“I’m still consulting the political leaders in the country about your request; I’ll make a decision; I know it’s my right to do so.” I’ll make such a decision when the time comes.”
