I Can Tackle Insecurity In Nigeria, Ex-Police Officer Now Imo Traditional Ruler Boasts

A former police officer now the Traditional ruler of Umuokanne Ancient Kingdom, in Ohaji-Egbema LGA of Imo State, His Royal Highness, Eze (Sir) Matthew Nwokeoma, has said he has the technical know-how to restore peace in Nigeria.

The monarch, who was among the Fifty One (51) traditional Rulers that were issued with staff of office, recently, by Sen. Hope Uzodimma, disclosed this in an interview with the press, at his place, Sunday.

He challenged Federal government to return security management to hands of Traditional Rulers in their various Communities to handle, adding that the monarchs know who is who in their Communities and could fish out bad eggs among them.

“I have come as a traditional Ruler to make peace, restore unity and love in Umuokanne Ancient Kingdom. Nigeria should give me security challenges to tackle”, he said.

The Royal father explained how he contributed to crime fighting as a former Nigerian police officer, and therefore assured that security challenges bedevelling the country will be a thing of the past if the measure he had pointed out is taken.

The Federal Commissioner representating Southeast in The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission in Presidency, Abuja, Hon. Emmanuel Ebomuche, who is also a son of the community, described Umuokanne as a peaceful area.

Ebomuche, a former Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC); and an ex- Chairman, Ohaji-Egbema LGA All Progressives Congress (APC), noted, the their Traditional Ruler, Eze Nwokeoma, will take the community to greater heights.

The President General of the community, Mr. Eke Chibu, said, that Umuokanne Community has a security expert and an all- round professional as their monarch.

He maintained that there had never been crises in the community due to according to him, the proactive approach of their Traditional ruler.
