BREAKING: Gunmen Raze Ohanaeze President’s Country Home In Imo

On Saturday morning, gunmen set fire to the country home of Prof George Obiozor, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in Awo-Omanma, Oru East Local Government Area, Imo State.

According to reports, the attackers arrived in vehicles and threw explosive devices at the Igbo leader’s house.

Oriental Times learnt that Obiozor was not at home when his house was attacked.

A source who spoke to the Punch said, “The country home of Prof George Obiozor was burnt. The CCTV cameras captured the attack. Thank God Prof was not at home when they came.”

Obiozor has not yet responded to a request for comment on the attack, but one of Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s leaders, who requested anonymity, said he had called Obiozor to express his sympathy on the incident.

He demanded that the arsonists be apprehended by the police.

Micheal Abattam, the state’s police spokesperson, had yet to respond to a question about the attack on Obiozor’s country residence.

The attack on Obiozor’s country residence occurred on the same night that the Umuguma Divisional Police Headquarters in the state’s Owerri West LGA was set on fire, killing two police officers and burning cars.
