Mixed Reactions Hit Imo APC Primary Elections, As Agrieved Aspirants Call Cancellation

Following the recently-conducted exercise that took place in the State, Imo Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma can be said to have been thrown into pressure by the aggrieved aspirants.
Recall, there were lots of All Progressives Congress (APC) contenders for State Assembly, House of Representatives and Senatorial seats in the 2023 election.
Some aspirants that have lost out in the game have expressed their grieviances over manner by which the excise was conducted by State leadership of the party, saying, the Governor, Sen. Uzodinma has only rewarded his men.
An APC chieftain from Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the State, Hon. Magnus Anyanwu, in an interaction with our reporter, in Owerri, Wednesday, said he was not satisfied with system the number one citizen of the State used in producing various candidates in the party.
“Many contenders have been disappointed and their expectations dashed by the said elections wherein they spent huge amount of money in the purchase of their interests forms”.
He therefore enjoined the agrieved ones to package their grieviances and join forces in pushing the party forward.
When contacted through a mobile telephone calls, the Imo States Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cajetan Duke, said, the party under leadership of Hon. Macdonald Ebere, held a credible, free and fair primaries in the state.
“The exercise had come and gone, it should not be seen as a do-or-die affair.”
Duke, charge the agrieved ones not to see the outcome as a fatal loss, but regard it as partys arrangements of which should not be used to run the APC down.
When our reporter spotted Senatorial aspirant for Imo East, Hon. Chino Kemdi Opara and other office holders who lost out in the primaries to speak on the outcome,
It would be recalled, that former Governor Ikedi Ohakim, ex Reps member; Rt. Hon. Mathew Omegara stepped down for Hon. Patrick Ndubueze for Imo North Senatorial district, Hon. Alex Mbata won that of Owerri Zone ticket; while former Senator that represented Imo West in the Senate, Osita Izunaso clinched the ticket.
Meanwhile, The Ondo State Firstlady and Imo East Senatorial aspirant in the just- concluded primary elections, Mrs. Betty Akeredolu, had cried foul over what she described as a manipulated polls; while she has been advised to accept the outcome in good faith.
