Mexican Officials Recover Battered Bodies Of 7 Men Dumped On Road In Tourist Hotspot
The authorities in Mexico say that they discovered the bodies of seven men dumped along the side of a road in a popular tourist destination.
According to local authorities, the remains of seven men were discovered late on Thursday night abandoned on a highway in the Huasteca region with severe bruises, which indicated that they had been tortured.
On the bodies that were discovered in the Gulf region of Mexico were written notes that read “this is what happened to me for working with the Gulf.” This message is an apparent reference to the Gulf cartel, a drug gang that operates in Mexico.
In the signatures of the messages was a phrase that seemed to be making reference to a rival gang called “Valles Operation O.B.”
Due to the fact that the bodies recovered in rural San Luis Potosi did not appear to be from the municipality of Aquismon, an investigation conducted by state prosecutors resulted in the conclusion late Thursday that the victims had been murdered elsewhere and then dumped in that location.
Visitors from all over Mexico have been drawn to the Huasteca region for many years due to the region’s beautiful waterfalls and rivers.
Cartel conflict was also blamed for a shooting that took place in north-central Mexico at two different bars, which resulted in the deaths of 11 people.
According to handwritten signs that were left at the location of the killings, two rival drug gangs had been engaged in a battle for supremacy in Guanajuato state for a number of years.
Tom Homan, a former acting director of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, issued a warning earlier this month that cartel violence will continue to spread into the United States as a result of the Biden administration’s failure to enforce immigration laws at the southern border.
“The most treacherous territory is where the convicted criminals and the drug dealers try to move their drugs, because it’s harder to apprehend them,” America Reports quoted Homan as saying.
“You know, only with use of a drone can you see them coming. So, yeah, you’re going to see populations across the entire southwest border. Every sector is going to see an increase because the cartel is going to spread their madness out, right? They’re going to send large groups to a certain area knowing Border Patrol is going to surge resources there. And that’s where they’re going to move the drugs and the convicted criminals, the pedophiles. This again, it’s a worst-case scenario. This administration has sold out our national security,” Homan added.
