Family Rejects Daughter Who Gave Birth To Arab Baby After Returning From Saudi Arabia

A woman whose Siaya family disowned her after she delivered an Arab baby has received assistance from well-wishers in Kenya.

Anna Awuor, 29, had been rejected by her family because she had given birth to an Arabian baby after returning from a trip to Saudi Arabia.

According to the philanthropist Judy Oricho, who highlighted the woman’s predicament on her Facebook page, Anna became pregnant after she was abused by her Saudi employer.

After he found out that she was going to have a child, he had her deported back to Kenya.

She eventually gave birth, and her family abandoned and banished her along with her children as punishment for having a Muarabu,” Oricho narrated.

After she was chased away by her family, she went to Migori in the ho7pes of finding refuge from a relative who had, alas, relocated away from the area.  As a result, she made her way to the camp of the chief in Migori in order to ask for help.

“She is appealing for any kind of help from you; food, clothing, and a place for her children to sleep,” Oricho wrote.

Fortunately, people of goodwill in Kenya were moved by her predicament, and an organization also stepped in to assist her.

“Well, thank you, I am very happy to announce that Anna’s case was taken by @harvest hope of Africa who came to her rescue and took her in with her children,” Oricho said.
