“I Was Paid ₦5,000 For A Movie I Did For 4 Days” — Veteran Nollywood Actor, Oniah Okwudili
Veteran Nollywood Actor, Oniah Francis Okwudili, who is believed to be the oldest in the Nigerian film industry has made some heartwrenching revelation.
The aged actor recently disclosed that he was paid a meagre N5,000 in a movie that he did for four days.
He made this known when his younger colleague, Muonago Collins, also known As Nche Nollywood, paid him a visit in his residence.
Mr. Oniah stated that the future of upcoming actors is at stake given the dimension the country’s biggest movie industry — Nollywood – is heading.
Sharing pictures of the visitation, Nche wrote;
“Meet the oldest man in Nollywood, how many still remember this uncle?… His name is Uncle Oniah.
We are not sending money but prayers and good wishes. He is still acting but some of our producers are not trying.
Uncle said that In his last job he was paid 5k for 4 days and that wasn’t encouraging, he also said that the way movie is going now he wonder the hope of our upcoming actors, ‘think about it.”
