Insecurity: Allow Nigerians Bear Arms For Self-defence — Reps. Majority Leader Tells Buhari
Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, has asked the government to allow Nigerians to bear arms in self-defence, Channels TV is reporting.
This, according to him, is considering the deteriorating security situation in the country.
Doguwa, who is a member of the ruling party representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State, made the demands during plenary on Thursday.
The House was debating the aftermath of the bombing of the Abuja-Kaduna train by gunmen suspected to be terrorists earlier in the week.
Shedding tears on the floor of the house, Doguwa noted that the security agencies have failed and citizens should not be at the mercy of terrorists or bandits.
